Paddling in loving memory of my brother, Jeffrey Elgin Kinerson, 1965-1998. A life lost too soon. My daughter's idol and a father of 3 wonderful boys. No one can know the despair that drives a person to take their life. We will love you forever!

Please make a donation that is TAX-DEDUCTABLE towards to our team Inkcredibles for the prevention of suicide! In our team is Marcia Hayes, Georgina Malloy and Madelynn Malloy.
Suicide consistently ranks as 8th among the top ten leading causes of death in our country. For young people below age 35, it is the 3rd leading cause of death. In the US, one person dies by suicide every 16 minutes; about 32,000 people die this way each year. 1500 people attempt suicide every day, one out of every 13 high school students. |

Paddle Power is an amazing journey in which 100's of paddlers raise money through a TAX-DEDUCTABLE gift for the prevention of suicide. West Central Behavioral Services, is available 24/7 to anyone in need. That’s a true and powerful statement! One that touches the heart and soul of all paddlers, every volunteer, every supporter. Life Is Good / Team Vanier has participated since its inception in 2004. Our lives will never be the same, this year will be our 9th year. Since joining Paddle Power, as “Life is Good” Team Vanier,. With your help West Central Services has raised thousands of dollars and brought awareness through outreach programs, and like so many others have contributed time & energy for this worthy cause. “A journey down the river rain or shine”. Very similar to the journey of life as it too, brings rain or shine, good & bad.
To be an individual finding one in a place they feel there is no way to fix it, no one to talk to, no way out of the situation. We paddle with 100’s of other paddlers and volunteers for 2 days on the river we spread the word that one is never alone. Yes there are people who care and that there is always a beam of light, don’t leave us, we haven’t even met yet. This life we have been given is so precious. So thank you everyone for your support this year, the previous years and yes we pray the years to come as well. Thank you so much for your support in helping us make a difference. One Life at a Time! Dean & Shelli Vanier |

Our team this year honors the memory of PFC James Keenan, a true blue American hero. On 6 November 2004 Jim's squad of the 293d MP Company, 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division was in Humvees patrolling the streets of Mosul, Iraq. When they were ambushed by a group of insurgents the fighting was at such short range that Jim had to lift his machine gun from behind its armored shield and stand up to bring fire to bear on the enemy. He killed five of the enemy and the others broke and ran away, and he is credited with saving the lives of his squadmates. For his actions he earned the Bronze Star with "V" for valor.
In Memorium James Keenan 13 December 1977 - 29 June 2011 Pro Deo et patria, requiscat in pacem. Sinn cuimhnich James Keenan gu brath. Please note this team gratefully accepts donations through September 21. Thank you. |

Our team this year consists of team leader: Glenn Britton and supporting members: Cara Britton (daughter), Andrea Drolet (daughter) and Michael Drolet (Son-in-Law). Glenn discovered this event and inspired his family to be a part of it with him. Now annually, members of the family team up to raise money for suicide prevention and awareness and paddle down the Connecticut River. This event is near and dear to our hearts as we lost an uncle to suicide. Since then there have been others we have lost and the need to support this cause became very important. Please help by sponsoring our team to participate in the annual paddle!!!!
